Leonardo Sánchez is a tango teacher specializing in folklore, Argentine tango and Latin rhythms. He obtained a scholarship from the Argentine government to study tango in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He received his university degree in folklore and tango at the National University of Art -UNA in Buenos Aires Argentina. He belonged to Leonardo Cuello’s tango company, participating in multiple events in the city of Buenos Aires. He has worked as a tango teacher since 1999 in multiple institutions public and private and universities in Colombia.
He is the director of the Latin Element Academy in Colombia and Argentina promoting the teaching of Latin rhythms to the entire community. He has developed and worked on projects in the area of dance, focused on improving the quality of life of people of different ages. He was in part of the film “NUESTRO ÚLTIMO TANGO”, along with great dancers such as Juan Carlos Copes, Juan Malicia, Pablo Verón, Alejandra Gutty, Pancho Martín, los Veliz, María Nieves among others.
He is currently in Australia on a student visa. He is teaching regular Tango and Salsa classes and workshops in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. His main objective is to share his knowledge and love for tango and dance in general.
