Saturday afternoon and evening will be at Millwell Road Community Centre, 11a Millwell Road East, Maroochydore.

Saturday 8 June
International Teacher Licia Bellassai – Licia is an international classically trained Argentine Tango teacher, appreciated for her elegance, sensuality, precision and musicality. She began studying classical dance at the age of 7. Licia continues her studies, also approaching other types of dance: modern, Latin, contemporary, Fux method dance therapy, until she falls in love with Argentine Tango and carries out her first and intense dance work, delving into the biomechanics and dynamics of movement teaching and technique, and on the choreography and the different styles: salon, milonguero, escenario. She has taught in Italy, Spain, the Canary Islands, Argentina, Africa, Australia and Indonesia. She has participated as a teacher and dancer in Italian festivals, festivals in the Canary island of Maspalomas and Tenerife. Licia is highly appreciated for her clear and professional teaching. Licia loves to teach the tango of embracing, of walking in music, the tango of feeling and respect for the codes of the dance floor and the milonga. A Tango dancer, in addition to being technically and aesthetically good, should feel tango not only as a dance, but as an attitude and a lifestyle. Her Tango is considered “Tango Wellbeing” during her Tango lessons, she also carries out a job of fixing and knowledge of the Self through conscious movements.

For over a decade, Doni and Renee have been pivotal figures in the world of tango, revered for their expertise and innovation. They’ve instructed and performed across Europe, shaping high-level dancers and teachers alike. As founders of Tango Melbourne, the city’s largest Argentine Tango school, their impact is undeniable, setting the standard for excellence in the tango community. With Renee’s 20-year dance background and Doni’s 30 years in music and body mechanics, their collaboration is a fusion of mastery not to be missed.
